Extensive testing and statistical work have already been done to ensure the good functioning of the items in general, and in each of the three age versions in particular, and to check whether the life domains and the items are relevant for children in varied socio-cultural regions. This has included piloting the questionnaires in various countries and languages, using large scale samples as well as focus groups and interviews with children.
